Baillage of Uganda, Informal Wine Tasting with Tapas
The Baillage of Uganda organised a Chaîne Wine Tasting with Tapas for new and prospective members.
The informal event was hosted at The Terrace at Uganda Duty Free Sales Ltd. A Veuve Du Vernay Brut sparkling wine was served while guests arrived. Sommelier Soraiya Ladak introduced guests to the wines to be paired with the tapas.
Restaurauteur Andrea and his team put together a wonderful meal with wines specially selected by Chaîne Member Mahedi Meghji of Uganda Duty Free Sales Ltd.: Feta cheese and coriander samosas paired with Jean Belmont Cabernet Franc Rosé; Pan-fried tilapia chunks in original Italian pesto sauce paired with Alvi's Drift Chenin Blanc 2021; Mini chicken skewers paired with Hill & Dale Merlot 2017; Beef tagliata served with rocket and parmesan cheese paried with Trapiche Malbec 2020; Chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream paired with Zonin Ventiterre Moscato Veneto.
Sommelier Soraiya Ladak discussed the wines and answered any questions which the guests had. She also gave some great tips and pointers on how wines should be paired, stored and served.
Bailli Délégué Mohit Advani thanked the hosting team and awarded The Terrace at Uganda Duty Free Sales Ltd. with a certificate of appreciation from Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Uganda.
