Baillage of Uganda, Gala Dinner

The Baillage of Uganda held a Gala Dinner at the Victoria Room of the Sheraton Kampala Hotel.
The evening began with a cocktail on the Victoria Terrace with a selection of canapés served with a B&G Blanc De Blanc fine sparkling wine. Guests then took their seats in the Victoria Room with a live band providing fantastic entertainment.
Bailli Délégué Mohit Advani welcomed members and guests for Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Uganda Gala Dinner and introduced Board Members Marinka Sanc-George, Kainembabazi Sabiti and Jean Philippe Bittencourt. (Board Members James Rattos and Daniel Kang’u sent their regrets as they were out of the country.)
Baillage of Uganda Board Member and General Manager of Sheraton Kampala Hotel, Jean Philippe Bittencourt, is a true cuisine and wine connoisseur. Together with his team, they offered a world class fine dining experience: The first course was a Seafood Bisque served with a B&G Chardonnay Reserve 2020, followed by a Spinach Ricotta Ravioli served with a Zonin Pinot Grigio 2020. A Gazpacho Granite paired with a Mud House Sauvignon Blanc 2021 was served before the main meal. The main meal was a Tournedos Rossini – Beef Medallion with Seared Foie Gras, Celery Puree, Madera style sauce, served with a Neethlingshof Malbec 2021. This was followed by an Assortment of Cheeses, Nuts, Dry Fruits, Onion and Prune Chutneys, Crackers and a Green Salad, paired with a Domaine De La Baume Cabernet Sauvignon 2021. The dinner ended with a Dessert Tryptique: Pavlova with Red Berries, Ferrero Rocher Cake, and a Macaroons Trio (Mocha, Mint and Strawberry served with B&G Rosé d’Anjou 2020.
Bailli Délégué Mohit Advani and Board Members awarded the Chefs, Sous Chefs and Service Brigade with certificates from Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Uganda. Additionally, a vote of thanks was offered to Chaîne Members Mahedi Meghji for his wine contribution and Benon Kigozi for organizing his band with truly unforgettable music.
